England have finally produced a win in what looked to be a dire World Cup campaign. Paddy Power has now released new odds on their chances at claiming a second world championship.
While Wayne Rooney may as well be absent from the entire England squad, Jermain Defoe stepped up to the plate – much to English fans’ delight – and rocketed the Three Lions into the Round of 16 with his 23rd minute winner.
As such, online bookmakers have increased England’s chances of winning the World Cup from a wayward 10/1 to 15/2. Paddy Power believes England will have no trouble taking down their next opponents, three-time world champions Germany, but they are still well behind favourites Brazil, Argentina, and Spain.
