A day into the tournament, and already several big names have fallen. Bet365 has all the odds on Wimbledon this year, including plenty of interesting match-ups over the next couple of days.
Number-one seed Roger Federer had to battle from two sets down against Alejandro Falla in the opening round of The Championships. The 26-year-old Colombian took his chances against the six-time Wimbledon champion, but Federer’s experience shone through in what was an unexpected day one thriller.
Novak Djokovic and Nikolay Davydenko also had problems against their unranked opponents, forcing both matches into lengthy five-setters. Such results bode well for the unknown players at Wimbledon, as the end of a tennis era edges ever closer. Read the rest of this entry »

With the World Cup being held in Africa for the very first time, Paddy Power has released a number of lucrative bets for punters to enjoy. Have a bet on a Desmond Tutu (2-2 draw), but don’t mention the Bore War (0-0 draw).
Despite being the host nation, South Africa aren’t even expected to get out of their group, let alone contest the knockout stages. As it stands, Bafana Bafana are sitting on odds of 7/4 to qualify for the Round of 16, but odds of 7/5 to finish bottom of their group.
Those football crazy folks at Paddy Power have even created a few humorous bets that are certain to entice any history buffs. Bore Wars and Desmond Tutu draws will be running throughout the tournament, but, hopeful of an exciting World Cup, odds for four or more Desmonds are sitting at just 8/11.
